DBT. is an electronic music brand based across Newcastle, Edinburgh and Glasgow.
It all started in Glasgow in 2019. DJ Bz and Ethan were planning a party and asked Arnie to give them a hand with the speakers. He brought his soundsystem up from Newcastle in a van, met them there, and together they set the party up in a wasteland skatepark. That first party became DBT.
From day one, the idea was to bring a more refined, timeless sound to the underground, and to bring different bodies together: a community of like-minded underground music lovers. That's where the name comes from.
We've travelled the world to find some of the best underground artists, then brought them to Scotland and Newcastle to share the micro house and minimal sound, often for their debut shows. Many played their first Scottish show with us, including Voigtmann, Alec Falconer, The Ghost, Fabe, Casey Spillman, Truly Madly, Jacopo Latini, Huerta, Cristi Cons, Olga Korol, Herodot, Edward, Hamish & Toby, Sepp and DJ Senc. Quality over quantity.
Some of our favourite parties have been outdoors, by reservoirs, near waterfalls and up in the Highlands. We also host nights in London, have taken DBT. to Amsterdam, Milan and Hanoi, and curate our own stage at Gottwood Festival in Anglesey. As a duo, DJ Bz and Doogi have recently played Golden Gate in Berlin, as well as Toulouse, Milan, Bologna, Lugano, Kosovo and Hanoi.

DJ Bz (pronounced Beez)
From Newcastle, of Indian heritage, now based in Edinburgh. In 2010 he and Arnie were throwing parties in Newcastle, booking Sonny Fodera before he blew up, plus Aeroplane, DJ Mes and Derrick Carter. In 2012 and 2013 they ran B. Events in Manchester at Sankeys and Spectrum. After moving to Edinburgh he co-founded DBT. with two close friends.
His sets lean towards micro house and dub techno, inspired by the likes of Ricardo Villalobos, DJ Sneak and Frankie Knuckles, with a soft spot for rare and unreleased records. With Doogi he's recently played Golden Gate in Berlin, Toulouse, Milan, Bologna, Lugano, Kosovo and Hanoi, and he curates the DBT. stage at Gottwood.

Arnie
DJ and producer from Newcastle, rooted in house, minimal and dub techno. He learned to mix at ten on his older brother's decks, was playing clubs in Newcastle and Edinburgh as a teenager, and later shared line-ups with Phil Weeks and Roy Davis Jr. With DJ Bz he ran parties in Newcastle from 2010, hosting Sonny Fodera, Aeroplane, DJ Mes and Derrick Carter, then B. Events at Sankeys and Spectrum in Manchester in 2012 and 2013.
With a friend he bought a soundsystem and started Shifting Sounds, after-hours parties in outdoor spots around the North East. When DJ Bz and Ethan asked him to help with the speakers for a party in Glasgow, he drove that soundsystem up, met them there and they set it all up together. It became the first DBT. party. Today he's a DBT. resident, recently toured three dates with Thomas Melchior, plays for Equal Parts at Grow in Hackney Wick, and holds a quarterly DBT. residency at Ernest in Newcastle.
